Confidence Begins in the Kitchen.

Teach Me How to Bake™ is a baking education and media company built on a simple belief:
the kitchen is one of the most powerful places for learning, confidence-building, and connection.

Before baking is about recipes, it’s about trust — in your hands, your instincts, and yourself. When children and families learn in the kitchen, they aren’t just creating food. They’re learning how to try, how to focus, how to recover from mistakes, and how to grow with confidence.

Teach Me How to Bake exists to protect that experience — and to raise the standard for how baking is taught.

Our Story

Teach Me How to Bake was founded in 2021 by Chef Kimberly I. Houston as an educational resource designed to make baking more accessible, skill-based, and confidence-forward.

What began as a single book for beginner bakers has grown into a multi-platform education company serving families, schools, educators, and culinary professionals. Today, TMHTB brings together books, classrooms, memberships, professional training, and media — all rooted in how people actually learn best: through hands-on practice, encouragement, and repetition.

At its core, Teach Me How to Bake is about bringing families back to the kitchen and strengthening the people who teach there.

Why the Kitchen Matters

The kitchen is one of the few environments where learning feels natural rather than forced.

It’s where:

  • Mistakes are expected and recoverable
  • Progress is visible and tangible
  • Confidence is built through doing
  • Connection happens organically

Teach Me How to Bake uses baking as a vehicle to help children and adults build real skills — and the confidence to use them.

Not for perfection. Not for performance. But for growth.

Setting the Standard for Baking Education

Teach Me How to Bake is not focused on trends or rapid expansion. We are committed to setting a higher standard for how baking is taught:

  • Emotionally
  • Developmentally
  • Skillfully

This work happens through research, teaching, iteration, and care — building slowly and intentionally so what we create lasts.
